gravity employs a sophisticated real time multi location inventory control system the management of inventory is primarily governed by two essential records the inventory master record and the inventory location record each item is associated with a single inventory master record, which governs the item type and associated costs additionally, there is one inventory location record for each site that manages the item, overseeing inventory quantities per site please be advised that the inventory location serves as the primary reference for all accounting defaults conversely, the inventory master focuses on the general attributes of items, excluding any accounting related values for instance, modifications to pricing or gl account numbers within the inventory master will not impact inventory transactions the inventory heiachchy is as follows inventory master inventory location 1 invnetory location 2 bin 1 bin 2 bin 3 to use the gravity inventory system, you must do the following complete the inventory section in the company configuration screen create one or more inventory sites create inventory master files create inventory location files the majority of inventory activities are conducted within the purchasing and revenue sectors of gravity additional inventory transactions may be managed through the inventory transactions screen
