gravity enables the capability to monitor serial or lot numbers associated with inventory items tracking is activated upon the creation of the inventory master record and cannot be altered once saved the decision regarding tracking can be made individually for each master item created tracking options include serial a unique identification number must be assigned to each unit of an item lot a unique identification number is assigned to a group of items lot with expiration a unique identification number and expiration date is assigned to a group of items note when an item is tracked the serial or lot id must be defined for each physical inventory transaction item tracking requirements are idenentified by a # icon on the line item grid of the transaction if the icon is red, the tracking information is not complete clicking on the icon will open the tracking dialog to enter or choose id numbers gravity maintains both a list of items tracked in inventory and items tracked that have been sold to customers
