By establishing a connection between two entities, Gravity has the capability to facilitate a transaction involving multiple entities. For instance, a vendor invoice voucher (bill) can be distributed to multiple entities using a single voucher. We recommend setting the relationship  between the entities in both directions. Example:

| Entity 1    |      | Entity 2    |
| ----------- | ---- | ----------- |
| ABC Company | \<-> | XYZ Company |
| XYZ Company | \<-> | ABC Company |

This will ensure that the correct Due To and Due From accounts are used for each Journal Entry based on which entity originates it.

## Summary Fields

### Multi-Entity Relationship- Provide a name to identify each relationship combination.

**Entity 1-&#x20;**&#x55;se the in-line search capability or the field's drop-down search box to select the originating entity.

**Entity 1 Due From/To-&#x20;**&#x55;se the in-line search capability or the field's drop-down search box to select the GL accounts on the originating entity to represent the balancing accounts for inter-entity transactions.

**Entity 2 Entity-&#x20;**&#x55;se the in-line search capability or the field's drop-down search box to select the destination entity.

**Entity 2 Due From/To-&#x20;**&#x55;se the in-line search capability or the field's drop-down search box to select the GL accounts on the destination entity to represent the balancing accounts for inter-entity transactions.&#x9;

**Tip:&#x20;**&#x57;hen setting up numerous multi-entity relationships use a spreadsheet to assist in the process. Using spreadsheets help ensure that both ends of all relationships are accounted for properly. Configure the spreadsheet to match the multi-entity import format.
