Configuring Microsoft Word
Open the Word template file.
To see and add customer engagement apps XML data, you need to enable the Word Developer tab.
- Go toΒ FileΒ >Β OptionsΒ >Β Customize Ribbon, and then enableΒ Developer.

The Developer option will be visible on the menu
You use the XML Mapping Pane to add entity fields to your Word template. Be sure to only add fields asΒ Plain TextΒ orΒ Picture only.
Position the cursor on the Word Doc and select the field from the list, right-click and paste as Plain Test. The result will look like this on the document.
- With the template file open in Word, go toΒ FileΒ >Β OptionsΒ >Β ProofingΒ >Β AutoCorrect Options.
- DeselectΒ Capitalize first letter of sentencesΒ andΒ Automatically use suggestions from the spelling checker.
- DeselectΒ Hyphens (--) with dash (-)Β on theΒ AutoFormatΒ andΒ AutoFormat as You TypeΒ tabs.
- ClickΒ OK.

Use the XML Mapping Pane under the Developer tab to define the Word template with entity fields.
Select the schema listed as "um:Microsoft-crm/document-template..."
You will see a list of fields to add to the template and at the bottom the related tables and thier fields.
A completed template would look like this in Word
- Put fields with repeating data in a table row.
- Select the entire table row in the template.
Select the record to be repeated in the table, right-click and select Repeating.
