Apply Date
Gravity utilizes a fiscal calendar for each entity to establish the commencement and conclusion dates for each period within the fiscal year. In the case of monthly periods, Gravity has the capability to automatically determine the structure of each period.

Gravity uses apply dates to determine which period a financial transaction applies to. The fiscal periods table in system setup defines the start and stop dates for each period.
Each financial transaction has an apply date. On a new transaction, the apply date defaults to the current date, but can be changed to any date in the past or future (with the correct user permissions assigned).
